Tangshan "Nano Valley" Attracts Domestic Nanotechnology Experts for Collaboration Talks

Under the correct leadership of Tangshan Municipal Party Committee and Government, and the guidance of “Industrial Development Program of Tangshan’s ‘Nano Valley’ ”, by introducing in many ways and active arrangement, Tangshan confirmed to take the import of nanogenerator technology as an opportunity, and take the innovation of nano energy environmental industry as a sally port, to propel vigorously the industry chain of nano energy environment, and strive to form a strategic emerging industry with the subject of nano energy environmental technology, which should become a regional characteristic. Tangshan Science & Technology Bureau investigated and liaised in many ways, and with strongly support of Deputy Director of Technological Management Department of National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Dr. Ren Hongxuan, on April 13th and 19th, Professor Xia Dongsheng from Wuhan Textile University and Director of Henan Nano Material Engineering and Technological Research Center, Zhang Zhijun, were respectively invited to come to Tangshan for collaboration talk on nanotechnology projects, such as nanofiber and device of drinking water treatment, research of preparation and applications of surface modificated white carbon black, etc. 
During the period, Tangshan Science & Technology Bureau organized related principals from Management Committee of Kaiping Modern Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, Management Committee of China-Japan co-constructed Caofeidian Eco-Industry Park and Tangshan Productivity Promotion Center for symposiums, respectively listened to Dr. Xia Dongsheng and Director Zhang Zhijun’s project introduction, and communicated on product’s application fields, economic and social benefits and investment way. 
Nanofiber technology and device of drinking water treatment is developed from an invention patent of Professor Xia Dongsheng and Professor Wang Dong. In the technology, antibiosis nanofiber of modified polyolefin is prepared by a method of thermoplastic blend, and utilize nanofiber’s performances of adsorption and filtration on metal ion, thereby to reach effect of removing heavy metal, adsorbing organics, and killing living microbes. An examining report on fiber’s intrinsic mold resistance by National Garments Quality Inspection & Supervision Center shows that, fiber’s ability to remove staphylococcus aureus is above 99%, its ability to remove colon bacillus is above 98.9%, which shows that functional groups on surface of nanofiber have the effect of sterilization, therefore it has wide application area and market prospect. Just one product water dispenser, by calculating with a market share of 10%, has a market capacity of 30 billion RMB. 
The research of preparation and applications of surface modificated white carbon black adopted liquid phase in situ surface technology, in which silicate ester or sodium silicate is used as precursor, while nanoparticles are initially generated, surface bond sorts of functionalized organic modifier. Dispersion in different medium is realized by changing modifier. Meanwhile, reactive functional group shall be introduced into surface modifier, to enable nanoparticles to have the ability to participate in further chemical reactions. Currently, the technology has widely applied to dope, (silicon) rubber, plastic, fiber, adhesive, printing ink, paper, grease, concrete, etc. Enterprises in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Qingdao, Zhejiang, Chongqing, etc have already applied the technology on their products, and gained considerable economic benefit.
